Most workers in the Isle of Man are entitled to be paid at least the statutory minimum wage, as set out in the Minimum Wage Act 2001. This includes employees and many other categories of workers, such as casual, agency and home workers.
Different minimum wage rates apply depending on a worker’s age, and special rules apply to certain groups, including young workers and voluntary workers. Employers must not pay less than the applicable minimum rate, and workers are protected against detriment or dismissal for asserting their right to the minimum wage.
